A Good Wife.

Concept art for my final year thesis. Just as a side note, I changed my domain name over to “blog.wscottforbes.com”; the old redirects to the new, but be sure to change any links that refer to the old. Thanks and enjoy the 101th post!

Sketches

Just random sketches. You may recognize a couple faces – I plan on doing better / finished drawings of them but for now here you go.

Forgetless TPB Cover

Finally, something I can post!  This is the cover to the Forgetless Trade Paperback (out in October).  I was trying out a new coloring technique in Photoshop; I am not sure if it was very successful but it may grow on me.  As an extra, I’ve also attached some of the preliminary ideas above.

Things have been hectic as of late.  Working with Alina Urusov for my 3rd Year Co-Op Internship, doing covers for a yet-to-be announced comic and working on my 4th year thesis.  Regardless, things are good and I hope that I can post some more work soon.

Adrift! – 3rd Year Group Film

Posted in School | 3 Comments

Just Brilliant.

Finally – third year is over!  I made it through alive and with a finished film (thank you group members)!  Now it is time to jump back to projects that fell by the wayside.  First task is to finish the last remaining pages of Forgetless issue 5 and then hop on to a secret project using the character above.  Enjoy and I promise to have a proper end-of-term post but for now this will have to do.  Thanks!

27 Cover.

A cover illustration for Charles Soule’s comic pitch “27″; I took a different approach with this cover than my usual work but it was fun nonetheless.  This was painted during my March break alongside doing Forgetless pages with finishing retouches last night.  Anyways, back to comics; enjoy!

“M”.

An illustration assignment for a class at school.  It’s a poster for my 4th year film “M” (working title) and it features Matilda. I vaguely tried to hint at a story even if it’s not readily apparent.  This was all drawn in Photoshop and rather quickly, about 5 hours on and off when all is said and done.  There are some weak areas in the anatomy, so please ignore them.  Anyways, back to work; enjoy!

Forgetless #3 Preview.

Alright, since I saw a preview of Forgetless issue #3 online – I guess it’s safe to post these up.  This issue looks incredible (I think) and the story is the best yet.  If you are interested in the book, go to your local comic shop and pick it up/order it in.  Thanks!

Life Drawing.

Here are some of my recent life drawings.  The time ranges from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.  I’m not a fan of conté at all; I can never seem to get it to do what I want it to do.  As always, enjoy.

Let’s call it something else…

Some friends and I have a blog that we try to update as much as possible; but with looming deadlines, it’s not always feasible.

The idea is to be inspired from a random book quote and illustrate what comes to mind first; then the artist uses there camera to grab a macro shot to what will later be the character’s stage.

It’s an interesting concept and produces some imaginative results. Be sure to check it out here!
